Shallow Lake Ecosystem Change Special Issue

Nitrogen deposition and biodiversity

Gavin Simpson and Chris Curtis were invited to participate in a workshop on nitrogen (N) deposition in Edinburgh (16th-18th November 2009). The workshop was organised by the International Nitrogen Initiative to inform the UN Conventions on Long-range Transboundary Air Pollution and Biological Diversity.

Research Councils UK Office in China: UK - China Joint Advanced Summer School A joint advanced summer school entitled Tracking Environmental Change in Dryland Regions Using Lake Sediments jointly organized by Professor Jonathan Holmes of the Environmental Change Research Centre (ECRC), Department of Geography, UCL and Professor Fahu Chen, Director, Centre for Arid Environment and Palaeoclimate Research (CAEP), MOE Key Laboratory of West China’s Environmental System, Lanzhou University, took place in Lanzhou University 27-31 July.

Darwin project quantifies the impact of hydroperiod on aquatic biodiversity in the Okavango Delta
